When Dick worked at Amana Refrigeration in the Injection Molding dept. my husband Denny was one of his team leaders, and I drove fork truck for them.
Denny and Dick had a very good friendship. Every night when Dick would leave to go home, Denny would say "say goodnight, Dick" and Dick would say back, "goodnight Dick" . It soon became a ritual between the two. After Denny's passing in 1999, I would occasionally run into Dick, and in parting I would always say "say goodnight Dick" and he would follow through with his "goodnight Dick" . I guess it was a way to keep Denny's memory alive and I know what it meant to Dick. So I guess there is only one thing left to say......
"Say goodnight Dick" it has been certainly a pleasure to have known you. You will be missed.
May you rest in peace.....
your friend,
Dawn Baldwin
