Obituary of Paul H. Reihman
Paul H. Reihman, 89 of Oxford died Monday, September 13, 2010, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 17, 2010, at the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Coralville, where visitation will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be at the Oxford Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made in Pauls memory to the Oxford First Responders or Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. Paul Henry Reihman was born May 26, 1921, in rural Iowa County, Iowa the son of Albert and Lina (Salzbrenner) Reihman. He was united in marriage to Violet E. DeGood on September 3, 1944, at the St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Iowa City. The couple lived their entire lives in the Oxford area, where Paul had been employed as a Ford service technician and manager for four different dealers, including Salter Motors and Carter Ford. He retired in 1984. Paul enjoyed his retirement in many ways; restoring antique tractors, gardening, small engine repair , following auto racing, numerous civic and church activities. Paul also enjoyed his Depot time with friends, but foremost was time spent with his family. His family includes his wife, Violet; children and their spouses, Marlene (Michael) Wiese of Des Moines; Richard (Margaret) Reihman of Oxford; Ronald (Donna) Reihman of Swisher; Jean Reihman (Don Brandt) of Marengo: and Robert (Judee) Reihman of Tiffin; 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; brother Lloyd (Maxine) Reihman of Rogers, AR; and sister, Doris Shepard of Wichita, KS. He was preceded in death by his parents, and grandson, Travis Reihman. Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service is caring for Pauls family and his services.
