Obituary of LaVerne Aubrecht
LaVerne Aubrecht, 78, of Tiffin died Thursday, October 21, 2010, at the Lantern Park Nursing and Rehab Center in Coralville. Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, October 25, 2010, at the Grace United Methodist Church in Tiffin. Burial will be at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Tiffin. Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the church, with cremation following the visitation. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made in LaVernes memory for Grace United Methodist Church, Iowa City Hospice or the charity of your choice. Online condolences may be sent for her family through the web @ www.gayandciha.com. E. LaVerne Slade was born May 17, 1932, in Tiffin, Iowa the daughter of DeWaine and Donna (Oakes) Slade. She graduated from Tiffin High School in 1950. On January 22, 1950, she married Robert J. Bob Aubrecht in Tiffin. The couple and their family made their home in Coralville for many years before LaVerne and Bob moved to Tiffin in 1996. LaVerne was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church in Tiffin, the North Liberty Saddle Club, Active in Johnson County 4-H, enjoyed the outdoors with her family, camping and fishing. LaVerne had worked a short time for the University of Iowa, she and Bob owned and operated Wool & Wear for a number of years, but for LaVerne she was most proud being wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, her family was a lifetime of love for her! Her family includes daughters, Margaret Rios (Benny) of North Liberty, and Marcia Dolezal (Mike Gatto) of Cedar Rapids; sons, Terry Aubrecht of Tiffin, Tom Aubrecht (Michelle) of Iowa City, and Tim Aubrecht (Cindy Elmer) of Rockford, IL; 11 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; sisters, Donna Dietrich (Darren) of Cedar Rapids, and Reta Bream of Oxford; sister-in-law, Vickie Slade of Tiffin. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Bob; son, James; and her brother, Vernon Slade, brother-in-law, Bill Bream.
