My sincere sympathy to the Cooper Family. I so enjoyed Portia when she would come to Haircraft Beauty Salon to get her hair done. She was a special person who I feel honored to have known. Diane Stahle
Portia, you came into our life recently and I will cherish the memories I have. Thank you for the gift that I will receive each year of the flowers you gave me to plant in my yard. What a wonderful way to remember you through life. You were so kind to us and welcomed us into your home with open arms. What a beautiful soul god just received.

Though we never met your mother we know from Paul's stories what a special person she was. We want to offer our support to you and your sisters during this time.

Paul, I am so sorry for your loss. What a grand lady your mother was. I recall her ability to welcome anyone into her home with open arms and a full table. What a marvelous cook! Her love of family, friends and her desire to teach others was truly a blessing to anyone that had the opportunity to meet her. The loss of a family member leaves a void hard to fill but as we find it does fill in time. Bless you and your family.
Paul,
Please accept my sympathy at the passing of your mother. She enjoyed a long and productive life enriched by the happiness of a close and loving family. A mother is the heart of the home and her passing from the scene leaves a void in our lives. It will take time to deal with the emptiness that such a loss brings. I offer my support. Please let me know if I can be of assistance and please extend my sympathy to all in your family.

Pat. I am so sorry to hear of your Mom's passing. I learned so much from her in 4H. She is a great lady
About six months ago, I was reminded of Portia Cooper, my 4-H leader in the 1970s, because of a comment on Facebook. I took the time to track down an address and drop her a note of appreciation for her influence on my life. Although I have lived in two countries and five states, I remain friends with one of my fellow Golden Rulers. I also recently started to stitch again. And, of course, I still sometimes find the occasion to brag to people that I exhibited at the Iowa State Fair. Now, if I could only remember how she made that multi-layered rainbow jello!
Mrs. Cooper was a kind and generous woman. I know her family and friends will have much to celebrate as they reflect on her long life.
Portia truly was a great lady. She was a superb cook, an advocate for the church and her family, and a dear person to have as a friend. I have so many memories of the Women's Circle and Portia's involvement. For years, Portia fixed corn beef and cabbage at just this time of the year for the Women's Circle. Everyone enjoyed that dinner! She never hesitated to state what she thought, and she was one of the first to volunteer. The world would be a better place with more people willing to give of their heart and their time as she did. Portia will be missed but well remembered.
So sorry to hear about Portia's passing. I remember her from 4H (many years ago.) She was a great organizer and leader for the Golden Rule 4H club. I learned about public speaking, fundraising, creativity. I'm certain her volunteering touched many many lives. My prayers go out to her family and all who mourn this loss.
