Obituary of Jon White

Jon A. White age 58 of 823 Keswick Drive, Iowa City died Thursday, November 13, 2003 at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, November 16, 2003, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Iowa City with the Reverend James Vrba officiating. A memorial fund has been established to assist stroke victims and their families. Jon Andrew White was born March 2, 1945, in Williamsburg, Iowa the son of John V. and Anna (O’Brien) White. He graduated from Williamsburg High School and received a degree from UCLA. He served in the United States Navy from 1963 to 1967. On July 7, 1978, he married Janet Sentman in Iowa City. For many years he has owned and operated the Jon A. White Insurance Agency in Iowa City. He was an active member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Iowa City, a member of the Million Dollar Round Table Group within his profession, and was known to many as a very caring individual to both the young and old. His family includes his wife, Janet; his mother, Anna White of Iowa City; sisters and their husbands, Priscilla and Steven Carpenter of Tifton, Georgia, and Margaret Ann and Todd Schneider of Waupun, Wisconsin; and several nieces and nephews; and special companion, Buddy their beloved dog. Jon was preceded in death his father, John V. White.
