Condolences
My dear Julie-
I just found out about your mom and I am so incredibly sorry. I know the pain you are dealing with and the ache in your heart, having lost my father this past April. I can tell you, the tears will lessen as you remember all the wonderful moments that made up your mother's life and be comforted in the knowledge that she knows she was very much loved. Find strength in your sisters and give yourself a big hug from me.
Shirley was a wonderful friend and we loved her laughter and all the fun times we had at the American Legion, She always made us all laugh and always cared about her family and friends. We will miss her dearly and will keep her close to our heart.
Dear Dale and Family,
We are so sad to learn of Shirley's passing. We have fond memmories of our work together at U of I, and though it has been many years ago we remember you as a great couple. We will keep you all in our thoughts and prayers. Jim & Willa

Our deepest sympathy and condolences to both the Miller and Bergstrom families. It was our pleasure to have Dale and Shirley at our home on several occasions when they visited Deb & Bob. She was a wonderful, sweet lady with a beautiful smile. Our hearts go out to all her loved ones.

My dear friend Deb, Dale, Julie, Teri, husbands and all family,
With sadness and sorrow I extend my sympathy. Yor mom was a good
soul, kind, strong woman. She lived life and touched the hearts of many.
I am so thankful to have shared their memorable life journey thru the family
video Deb's son made at Dale and Shirley's 60 year anniversary party. It brought so many familiar faces together. I want to celebrate with you, her life and
remember her unforgetable laugh. Her love for family was genuine. She has been welcomed into Heaven above as God has another plan for her.
I pray everyone will soon have peace and comfort in their hearts as you make time to grieve and keep your memories close.
Dale, Julie, Dave and all the Family we are sorry to hear that Shirley passed. I sure remember the good ole days with the Coralville Fire Department the parties, ect. You will all be in our prayers. Keep all your memories and remember that beautiful smile Shirley shared often. God Bless You All.
My sympathy and prayers to Dale and all the family. Shirley was a delight. I remember spending a Christmas with Bob and Deb once and the Miller's were also visiting. Shirley had a wicked sense of humor and she and I enjoyed teasing my brother, her son-in-law, Bob.
Hugs to Deb and her sisters. I know the pain you are going thru, but you are not alone. I hope you feel our love and comfort. You are surrounded by it.
Dale and family,
So sorry to hear of Shirley's passing. Our thoughts and prayers go out to you.
Your Eagle brother and sister.

To my dear friend Terri and her family (Charlie, Jason, Tiffany); Bob and Deb & family, and Dave and Julie & family:
You are all in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time Shirley holds a special place in my heart as do all of you. Cherish the many wonderful memories and hold on to one another. Sending thoughts and prayers and I'll see you at the end of the week to give you all hugs. Until then, take care.
My heart and prayers go out to you all. I am so glad I got to see Shirley and the Family at the 60th wedding anniversary. Be comforted she is now at peace with our Lord. Kath
Aunt Shirley, your infectious laugh, great smile, and loving and caring nature will be missed! So many great memories of you and your family in Roland and at so many planned and impromptu get togethers! I loved listening to all your sisters and brothers speaking at the same time and yet never missing what any of the others said! We are so happy to have been there for your Anniversary and Birthday celebrations! We are blessed to have had you as our Aunt! Love Pat Ellingson
I am going to miss Shirley's laugh when I would tease her about the ISU Cyclones and her very much loved Hawks. I enjoyed it when she came to our house and I brought her a drink in a red Cyclone cup. She always said it tasted funny and would grin big.
The family times at the Suburban (Cox Family Restaurant) with all the Andersons talking at once while the kids ran around and Maurie feeding them all fries, tenderloins or steak were something. I am not sure all those stories were true about the Roland Rocket days ,but I do think all the stories about Dale, Maurie, Bud and Mick roughing up the guys chasing their Anderson gals might be real.
She will be missed with her caring ways and proud Norwegian heritage. Now the next generation will have to meet in the Roland City Park and have a beer on ice to celebrate those Andersons for Shirley.
Oh mom, where do I start? I am so saddened by this acute illness that took you in less than 30 hours. I think most of us are still in shock, but thankful you did not suffer. When I talked to you on Wednesday, you sounded so strong and we had a such a nice visit.
