Obituary of Helen Ogoli

Helen A. Ogoli, age 72 of Shamakhokho, Shivembe, Kenya, died Wednesday, December 31, 2003, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. She had been in Iowa City visiting her children, Grace Jahava, Aggrey Ogoli, Eric Ogoli, Francis Ogoli, and Mike Ogoli all of the Iowa City area when she had to be hospitized. A time of gathering and services will be held from 6pm to 8pm Friday January 9, 2004, at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City. Following these services locally, she will return to her home for burial in the village of Shamakhokho, Shivembe, western Kenya. Memorial donations can be made in Helen’s memory through the funeral home or the University of Iowa Community Credit Union, Coralville, Iowa. Her family includes her husband, Ephraim Ogoli of Kenya; children James Ogoli and Tony Ogoli both of Kenya; David Ogoli of Chicago, Grace Jahava, Aggrey Ogoli, Eric Ogoli, Francis Ogoli, and Mike Ogoli all of the Iowa City area; and the late Dr. Joy O. Ogoli. The family of Helen Andisi Ogoli wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the UIHC staff – Cancer, Internal Medicine and Palliative Care Units for their medical care, friends and all those who gave their condolences, love and support.
