Obituary of Bernadine Volkman

Bernadine Theresa Volkman, age 67 of Milo, Missouri, formerly of Riverside died Sunday, May 30, 2004, at the Freeman Hospital in Joplin, Missouri. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, June3, 2004, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Oxford with the Reverend Edmond Dunn officiating. Burial will be at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Oxford. Visitation will be from 4 to 7p.m. today at the church. A memorial fund has been established in Bernadine’s memory. She was a beloved mother and homemaker for her eight children and devoted wife to her husband of 45 years. She enjoyed gardening, refinishing furniture, and playing with her nine grandchildren. Her family includes her husband, William Volkman of Milo, MO, children, Virginia Volkman of Kalona, Leroy Volkman and his wife, Angela of Iowa City, Steve Volkman of Carthage, TN, Anne Volkman of Washington, IA, Glenn Volkman and his wife, Diane of Kellogg, IA, Mary Volkman of Scottsdale, AZ, Susie Craff and her husband, Doug of Brighton, IA, and Daniel Volkman of Riverside; grandchildren, Angila Volkman, Christopher Jones, Travis Jones, Brooklynn Volkman, Bryce Craff, Sloan Volkman, Rachael Volkman, Parker Volkman, and Alex Craff; sisters, Ella Jean Bishop and her husband, Leonard of Lacona, Betty Jo Thomann of Riverside, Lenore Seuferer and her husband, Ken of Chariton, Rosemary Adams and her husband, Dick of Stubenville, OH, and Linda Frueh of Longmont, CO; brothers, Leo Frueh and his wife, Mary of Dubuque, and Mel Frueh and his wife, Barbara of Des Moines. She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant son, Wayne Volkman, and a brother, Don Frueh.
