Obituary of Reggie Eckhoff

Reggie Eckhoff age 75, of North Liberty died on Wednesday, June 30, 2004 at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, July 5, 2004 at Gay and Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in Coralville. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the Reggie Eckhoff Memorial Fund. Online condolences may be sent for family through our website @www.gayandciha.com Reginald H. Eckhoff was born on October 13, 1928 in Iowa City the son of Harry J. and Marion M. Richey Eckhoff. On August 8, 1947 he married Patricia Hess in Iowa City. He then married Jean Brown on July 20, 1967 in Casper, Wyoming. Reggie owned E.M.C. incorporated a mechanical and plumbing business. He raised race horses on his farm near North Liberty called Whinnee Acres. Reggie was a member of the Iowa Quarter Horse Racing Association. His family includes his wife, Jean of North Liberty, son, Rick and wife, Deb Eckhoff of Iowa City, daughters, Barb and husband, Bob Bryant of Coralville, Di and husband, Rick Jarrard of Union Hall, Virginia, step-son, Mark Brown of Coralville, grandchildren, Ryan and wife, Melissa Eckhoff, Mark and wife, Kendra Eckhoff, Megan Eckhoff all of Iowa City, Tammie and husband, Joe Ruth of Chariton, Iowa, Chad Bryant of Junction City, Kansas, Travis and wife, Kate Jarrard of Ball Ground, Georgia, Tawnya and husband, John Doss of Blue Ridge, Virginia, Cody Jarrard of Roanoke, Virginia, step-grandchild, Marni Brown of North Liberty, Seven great-grandchildren, Mia and Neal Eckhoff, Jake, Kristi, Josh Ruth, Kayleigh Doss and Sydney Jarrard and a special niece, Cynthia and husband, Roger Crull of Prescott Valley, Arizona.
