Obituary of Richard Grodzicki

Richard K “Dick”. Grodzicki, age 67 of 705 ½ 2nd. Street, Coralville died Tuesday, October 5, 2004 at his home following an apparent heart attack. Memorial services will be held at 7p.m. Tuesday, October 12, 2004, at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City with the Reverend Judy Gingerich officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the charity of the donors’ choice in Dick’s memory. Online condolences may be sent for Dick’s family through our website @www.gayandciha.com Richard K. Grodzicki was born April 4, 1937, in Meriden, CT the son of Karol and Stella (Arabasz) Grodzicki. Following graduation from high school, he attended and graduated from Central Connecticut University. In 1959, Richard moved to Iowa City where he continued his education at the University of Iowa receiving his master’s degree in geography. For the past twelve years, he has been employed by Rob Gardiner at Rob’s Meat Market and Holiday Foods in North Liberty. Here he was always doing the outside grilling, which he loved! His family includes his brother and wife, Leonard and Heather Grodzicki of Southwick, MA; nephews, Mark Grodzicki and Eric and his wife, Tara Grodzicki; great-nephew, Evan Grodzicki; Dick’s local family, Rob and his wife, Dixie Gardiner of North Liberty and their children, Lindsey G., Lindsey R, Kyle, Jennifer, and Ashley; and Betty Gardiner of Iowa City.
