Obituary of Shantele Cornwell

Shantele R. Cornwell, age 31, of Big Coppitt Key, Florida and formerly of Iowa City died on Saturday, November 6, 2004 at her home following a sudden illness. A memorial service will at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 12, 2004 at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City. Burial will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Gay and Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City. Memorials may be given to the Shantele Cornwell Memorial Fund. Online condolences may be sent for family through our website @ www.gayandciha.com. Shantele Renae Cornwell was born on January 9, 1973 in Waterloo, Iowa. She graduated from Iowa City, City High School and joined the United States Air Force after graduation. She was a member of the Honor Guard and following her service she lived in Spokane Washington, Big Pine Key Florida, and Iowa City before moving to Big Coppitt Key Florida. Shantele enjoyed many things including, playing softball, reading, writing, drawing, sewing quilts for family members and friends, crafts, cooking, shopping and her family and friends. Her sense of humor, radiant smile, and kind heart will be forever missed. Her family includes her parents, Deanna and Tom Cornwell of West Branch, a brother, Christopher and wife Karianne Cornwell, and their children Drew and Beau, a brother, Joshua and wife Trisha Cornwell all of Iowa City, a sister, Meagan and husband Chad Richardson, and their children, Deanna and Aurora all of Lone Tree, her grandmother, Darlene Hoskinson of Iowa City, boyfriend, Darrin of Big Coppitt Key, Florida, a great-aunt Opal Danehy of Waterloo along with numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Lloyd Hoskinson, Donald J. Cornwell, and her grandmother Joyce Cornwell Gay and Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service is caring for Shantele’s family and her services.
