Obituary of Engracia Mendoza

Engracia Mendoza, age 90 of 605 Greenwood Drive, Iowa City died Saturday, November 13, 2004, at Greenwood Manor Care Center. A memorial mass will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, November 19, 2004, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Iowa City, with the Reverend Rudolph Juarez officiating. Immediately following the mass there will be a reception held at the parish hall, everyone is welcome. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in her memory. Engracia was born August 14, 1914, in Havana, Cuba, the daughter of Jose Mendoza and Josefa Carbonel Mendoza. She was united in marriage to Jose Mendoza Ramirez on November 26, 1944, in Santiago de Cuba. The couple moved to the United States in 1962. Her husband, Jose died January 28, 1995. Her family includes two sons and their wives, Jose and Nancy Mendoza of Iowa City, and Fernando and Suzanne Mendoza of Glendale Heights, IL; two grandchildren, Michelle Marie Mendoza and Anthony Thomas Mendoza.
