Obituary of Ola A. Brennenman

Ola A. Brenneman, 98, of Iowa City, died Thursday, July 7, 2005 in Iowa City. Funeral services will be 10:30 am Monday, July 11, 2005 at Lower Deer Creek Church, rural Kalona with burial in the Lower Deer Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 pm Sunday, July 10, 2005 at Gay & Ciha Funeral Home. Memorials in Ola’s name may be given to Lower Deer Creek Church, Iowa City Hospice or Caring Hands. Online condolences for Ola’s family may be sent through our website @www.gayandciha.com. Ola was born July 31, 1906 at Kalona to Jacob and Lydia (Zimmerman) Brenneman. She had worked as a maid in the Iowa Memorial Union until retiring in May of 1976. Ola was active in church activities, was an avid reader, enjoyed flowers and gardening and was very interested in her family. Ola’s family includes her sisters Hilda King of Harrisonburg, Virginia and Freda Bush of Iowa City and numerous nieces and nephews. Ola was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, and 5 brothers.
