Obituary of Harvey Prizler, Sr.

Harvey H. Prizler Sr. age 97 of rural Williamsburg, died Saturday, December 11, 2004, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 15, 2004 at the Oxford United Methodist Church with the Reverend Diane Townsley officiating. Burial will be at the East York Cemetery near Williamsburg in rural Iowa County. Visitation will lbe from 4 to 8pm Tuesday at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service – Oxford Chapel. Harvey was born June 14, 1907, in rural Johnson County, the son of Frank M. and Mary (Martin) Prizler. He attended Horseshoe Bend Country School. On June 5, 1957, he married Mary Louise Schwab in Oxford, Iowa. Harvey has worked along side of his late brother, Charles in farming for more than fifty-five years. His love of the outdoors was obvious in his farming the land, caring for their livestock, hunting and trapping around the area. His family includes his wife, Mary; sons, Harvey Prizler Jr. and his wife, Lori and Vernon Prizler all of Williamsburg, eight grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister Cora Loventinsky; and four brothers, Robert, Alvin, Leonard, and Charles.
