Obituary of Gene Anderson

Gene C. Anderson, age 72 formerly of 226 Orchard Court, Iowa City died Friday, February 11, 2005, at the Lantern Park Care and Rehab Center in Coralville. Family services were held Tuesday, February 15, 2005, at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City, with burial at the Memory Gardens Cemetery in Iowa City. Online condolences for Gene’s family may be sent through our website @www.gayandciha.com. Gene was born July 22, 1932, in Ft. Dodge, Iowa the son of George L. and Annie M. (Riley) Anderson. He attended schools in Ft. Dodge, and moved from there in 1963 to Iowa City. Here he was employed at the University of Iowa as a plumber and pipe fitter for over eighteen years. Gene loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting for mushrooms, enjoying the wildlife and animals. His family includes two sisters and their husbands, Helen and Willard Wessels of Ft. Dodge, and Shirley and Don Waters of Oregon; three brothers and their wives, Robert and Pam Anderson of Iowa City, Duane and Catherine Anderson of Las Vegas, NV, and George and Leanne Anderson of Freemont, NE; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Jim Anderson, and a nephew, Jim L. Anderson.
