Obituary of Randall Winborn

Randall “Randy” Winborn, age 53 of rural Iowa City, Iowa died Monday, February 21, 2005, at his home surrounded by his family following an extended illness. Funeral services will be held at the Sharon Center United Methodist Church, rural Sharon Center at 10:30 a.m., Friday, February 25, 2005, with the Reverend Doug Cue officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7pm Thursday at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City. In Lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Randy’s memory or donations can be made to Iowa City Hospice. Online condolences may be sent for Randy’s family through our website @www.gayandciha.com. Randy was born April 23, 1951, in Iowa City the son of Russell L. and June E. (Niffenegger) Winborn. He attended Iowa City Schools, graduating from Iowa City West High in 1969. On February 21, 1970, Randy married Barbara Jean Mills at the Sharon Center United Methodist Church. Randy has spent his entire life on the farm, his family and his farming were the true loves of his life. He was a member of the Sharon Center United Methodist Church, and an avid hunter. His family includes his wife, Barbara; daughter and her husband, Kerry and Steve Prybil of Riverside; sons and their wives, Heath and Rachel Winborn of New York, NY, and Benjamin and Lori Winborn of Swisher; three grandchildren, Grant Prybil, Ruby Winborn, and Colin Winborn; his parents, Russell and June Winborn of Kalona; his brother, Warren Winborn and his wife, Barb of Richland, IA, and his sister, Diane Mussig and her husband, Marshall of Gladbrook, IA.
