Obituary of Eileen Theresa O'Byrne

Eileen T. O’Byrne, 83 of Greenwood Manor, Iowa City and formerly of Bayside and Shelter Island, New York died Saturday, April 30, 2005 at Mercy Hospital, Iowa City. Funeral services will be he at Our Lady of Isle Catholic Church, Shelter Island, New York with burial in the church cemetery. Online condolences may be sent for Eileen’s family through our website @gayandciha.com. Eileen was born July 9, 1921 in Shohola Falls, Pennsylvania to Thomas and Theresa (White) Quinlan. She married Francis O’Byrne on August 29, 1942 at Old St. Mary’s Cathedral in San Francisco, California. Eileen was a secretary for the president of Cathedral College in Douglaston, New York. She moved to Iowa City in October of 2003. Eileen’s family includes two daughters, Patricia and her husband, Richard Noeth of Iowa City and Eileen Young of Fort Collins, Colorado, three sons, Joseph of Houston, Texas, Francis and his wife, Vicky of Fairfax, Virginia and William and his wife, Jackie of College Station, Texas and eight grandchildren, including Kristyn and Erinn Noeth, a sister Sister Joan Quinlan, O.P. of Commack, New York, and three brothers, Robert of Florida, Edward of Albany, New York and Richard of Queens, New York. Eileen was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister and two brothers.
