Obituary of Karen Kutcher

Karen K. Kutcher, 57, of 908 DeForest Avenue, Iowa City died Friday, August 26, 2005 following a lengthy illness. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, 10:30 am, August 31 at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, Iowa City, Sunday parking will be in effect for the funeral. Burial will be in the St. Stanislaus Cemetery, rural Hills. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 30, at Gay & Ciha Funeral Home, Iowa City. Karen was born in Iowa City, July 30, 1948 to Clair and Madlyn (Owens) Halter. She gradated from Mid Prairie High School in 1966. She married Jim Kutcher, September 24, 1982. Karen was a housekeeper at the Quad dorm, University of Iowa for a number of years. Karen also baby sat for a number of years for Karen dearly loved children. Karen was a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church. Karen’s family includes her husband, Jim; two sons, Brett and his wife, Kristina of Iowa City and Jeff of Fort Dodge; five grandchildren, Lea, Kimberly, Alexander, Krystal and Wayne; her mother, Madlyn Halter of Iowa City; three sisters, Janet Wedvick of Las Vegas, Nevada, Cheryl and her husband, Richard Gioimo of Iowa City and Pam Halter of Iowa City; one brother Greg Halter of Sandstone, Minnesota; six nieces and nephews, Cristina, Justin, Chad, Cody, Ashley and Jesse and 3 great nieces and nephews, Dominic, Diamond and Tylyn.
