Obituary of Lue Ellen Larew
Lue Ellen Larew, age 74 of rural Oxford died Saturday, December 10, 2005, peacefully surrounded by family.
Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, December 15, 2005 at the Oxford United Methodist Church with the Reverend Diane Townsley officiating. Family graveside services will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Iowa City. Visitation will be from 4 to 7pm Wednesday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be given in Lue Ellen's memory to Iowa City Hospice of Oxford United Methodist Church. Lue Ellen was born March 29, 1931 to Stanley and Ethel Mueller Hruby on a farm North of Oxford, Iowa. She married Harold James Larew on June 11, 1949 at First Federated Church in Oxford. She taught rural school for a short time. She was actively involved in church, community and especially her family. She was a member of the Oxford United Methodist Church and Corona Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star.
She is survived by her husband and five sons, Stephen (Debbie) of St. Augustine, Florida, Edgar (Darlene) of West Branch, Iowa, Mark of Indianapolis, Indiana, Eric (Sandra) of Bettendorf, Iowa, and Neal (Daniela) of Richmond, Virginia. She is also survived by her mother, Ethel Hruby of Amana, Iowa, her brothers Lloyd (Marie) of Oxford, Richard (Merlene) of North Liberty, Iowa, Ray (Shirley) of Oxford and Don (Cille) of Des Moines, Iowa. She is also survived by grandchildren Dawn (Jason) Boucher of West Des Moines, Iowa, Tiffany Larew of Schaumburg, Illinois, Joshua and Rebecca Larew of Bettendorf, Iowa, Claire, Corinne and Craig Larew of Indianapolis, Indiana, Vaclav Larew of Richmond, Virginia and a great-grandson, Carter Kamm of Florida and a great-granddaughter, Lorelai Boucher of West Des Moines, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her father, Stanley Hruby and an infant son and an infant daughter.
