Obituary of Carol Morrow
Carol PeeWee A. (Seaton) Morrow, age 65 of Alamo, Texas formerly of the Iowa City, Cedar Rapids area died Friday, February 24, 2006, in Alamo of complications from surgery. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 4, 2006, at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City with the Reverend Kenneth Kuntz officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 7pm Friday at the funeral home. A memorial fund has been established in Carols memory. Carol was born February 27, 1940, in Pasadena, CA, the daughter of Clyde Seaton Sr. and Lenora (Sullivan) Seaton. She was raised in the Iowa City area, married Ronald Wonick Sr. in November of 1956. The couple later divorced. She later married Gary E. Morrow on December 6, 1969, in Cedar Rapids. The couple had lived in Cedar Rapids and Panora, Iowa before retiring to their winter home in Alamo last October. In Carols earlier years she enjoyed attending her husbands softball games. She loved to travel and was enjoying her retirement life in Texas. She stayed very active in her retirement community with bingo, jam sessions, craft sales, and socializing. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She could never have enough company. She was a devoted Iowa Hawkeye and Chicago Cubs fan. Her family includes her husband, Gary; three children, Ron Wonick of Cedar Rapids, Sherri Thurston (Steven) of Walford, and Terri Lyon (Frank) of Clare; two step-children, Robin Havig (Steve) of Redwing, MN, and Michael Morrow of West Branch; six grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, five step-great-grandchildren; her mother, Leonora Seaton of Iowa City; two brothers, Clyde Seaton Jr. (Jeannie) and Thomas Seaton (Beverly) all of Iowa City; and seven nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends and will forever hold a place in our hearts. Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service is caring for Carols family and her services.
