Obituary of Mary Jo Rogge

Mary Jo Rogge, age 63 of Iowa City died Wednesday, March 22, 2006, at the Solon Nursing Care Center. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m., Friday, March 24, 2006, at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City with the Reverend Dwight DuBois officiating. Burial will be at the Oakland Cemetery in Iowa City. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm Friday until services at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made in Mary Jo’s memory to the Multiple Sclerosis Society. Online condolences may be sent for her family through our website @www.gayandicha.com. Mary Johanna Amrine Rogge was born February 7, 1943, in Iowa City, being raised by her grandparents, Ira and Sophia Amrine. She attended schools in Iowa City including City High School. On November 10, 1961, she married John Gregory Rogge in Iowa City. She has been employed at the Canteen at the Veterans Administration Hospital, Whiteway Supermarket, and for many years before retiring in 1984 at the Randall’s Store in Iowa City. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Iowa City. Her family includes her husband, Greg Rogge of Iowa City; two daughters, Heidi Rogge of Walker and Heather Rogge of Cascade; a half-brother, Robert Amrine of Kentucky. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Ira & Sophia Amrine; infant son, Scott Gregory Rogge; and mother, Phyllis Lauderbaugh.
