Condolences
I didn't know Lynn for a long time, but she made a deep and lasting impression. I will remember Lynn as a passionate, loving, intelligent, and deeply caring woman. My love and prayers to Barry. I send you strength to help you through this difficult time. Lynn will always be in my heart.
I was so saddened to learn of Lynn's passing. I had the pleasure in working with Lynn on the UI Staff Council and AD Hoc committee on Research years ago. She was a respected leader on many fronts. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
I send my deepest sympathy to Mr. Stoll and family.
My prayers and thoughts are with you.

Lynn and I worked together in the same Biochemistry lab for about 25 years sharing both the joys and frustrations of basic science research. Her dedication to research and the skill with which she practiced her profession was an inspiration to me. Sue and I want to extend our deepest sympathy to Barry and all of Lynns friends.
I met Lynn on the job while learning basic culture techniques. We became and remained friends for almost 30 years. We were in the same department for several years, but later each moved into differing areas of study. I always liked running into her at U of I and we usually chatted and caught up on each's current research. She was always gracious and one could tell that she loved her work. Thanks, Lynn, for the good days in a sometimes crazy world.

Lynn was very influentual in starting the Cedar Valley Daylily and Iris Society 25 years ago, along with her husband and Fred McDowell. Her speaking always included her heart and scientific knowledge about daylilies and iris. She always made you feel welcome in her Walnut Hill Garden and wanted you to learn something while you were there. I first met her on a Region One bus tour where she was conducting a Garden Judge workshop. I will treasure her 'Bing Cherry Binge' and 'Lavender Potpourri' in my garden.
We are so sorry for Lynn's passing. She was our Region's link to the big Florida hybridizers for many years. She and Barry visited them every year, then she gave club programs showing us the newest daylilies, tested, and wrote wonderful articles evaluating them. When she decided that Florida daylilies had grown too tender, and switched her focus to Northern-bred plants, she was quite influential.Lynn brought a scientist's analysis to daylilies. We will miss her,and her lovely hybrids.I will think of her talking daylilies with Fred, now.
I first met Lynn and her husband Barry in the early 1990s. The Stolls and the late Fred McDowell were warm and welcoming to me when I started growing daylilies. They invited me to join their daylily club (Cedar Valley Iris and Daylily Society) and I did so even though eastern Iowa is about a five-hour drive from here. I attended many club functions in the 1990s and had so much fun that I wrote an article about one of the CVIDS events (Weekend at Barry's, published in the Fall 1996 issue of the Region 1 Newsletter).
Lynn encouraged me to become a Garden Judge and inspired me to become a Garden Judge Instructor. Lynn was a mentor when I began my first term as American Hemerocallis Society Region One Vice President in 2000. She was a gifted writer, and co-wrote many articles about daylilies with Fred McDowell.
Lynn will be greatly missed. Barry, I am very sorry for your loss.
Lynn was great ambassador for Daylilies and gardening in general. It was always a great pleasure to have Lynn & Barry in our garden. Lynn attended many of the Central Iowa Daylily Society events and was a great speaker & story teller of the beginning of American Hemerocallis Society Region One. Lynn will be greatly missed by many.
Our prayers are with Barry, the rest of Lynn's family and friends.
