Obituary of Norma J. Sheldahl

Norma J. Sheldahl, age 83 formerly of 3051 Wayne Avenue, Iowa City, died Saturday, May 27, 2006, at a care center in Coon Rapids, Iowa. Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, June 17, 2006, at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City. Online Condolences may be sent for her family through our website @www.gayandciha.com. Norma J. Cline was born November 7, 1922 in Pilot Mound, Iowa the daughter of Cecil and Yetive (Louie) Cline. Following graduation from Pilot Grove High School, she attended and graduated from Drake University and the University of Iowa. She was united in marriage to William M. Sheldahl in December of 1942. For many years she taught in elementary education. Norma has resided in Pilot Mound, Sheldahl, Mingo, State Center, and Iowa City. Her family includes a daughter, Sally Horak and her husband, Robert of Jefferson, IA; son, William M. Sheldahl of Haleiwa, HI; grandchildren, Kirsten Horak of Pensacola, FL, Jason Sheldahl of Boone, IA, Greta Springer and her husband, Justin of Polk City, IA, Kory Sheldahl of Kaneohe, HI; and Liesl Horak of Iowa City; great-grandchildren, Jacob, Bethany, Kameron, Alia and Marlee; sisters, Elisa Orr, Arvis McDevitt, and Zelda Alderson. She was preceded in death by her parents, grandson, Ryan Sheldahl, and sister, Marilyn Yeaman. Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service of Iowa City is caring for Norma’s family and her services.
