Obituary of J. Dawn Jensen
J. Dawn Jensen, age 62 of rural Wellman died Wednesday, September 6, 2006, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, September 9, 2006, at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City, with the Reverend Paul Akin officiating. There will be a visitation from 11:30 a.m. Saturday until services at the funeral home. Graveside services will be held at 11:30 a.m., Monday, September 11, 2006, at the Elmwood Cemetery in Renwick, Iowa with the Reverend Dale Schoening officiating. Memorial donations can be made in Dawns memory to the First United Methodist Church in Iowa City. Online condolences may be sent for her family through our website @www.gayandciha.com. J. Dawn Clowes Jensen was born December 28, 1943 in Eagle Grove, Iowa the daughter of Donald and Elsie (Hunt) Clowes. She graduated from Boone Valley High School, Renwick, Iowa in 1962, received her BA degree from the University of Iowa and her Masters degree from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, IL. For the past twenty years she has been employed at the University of Iowa. On August 16, 1975 she was united in marriage to Edward Jensen in Iowa City. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Iowa City. Dawn had many passions, as a gifted musician, she loved music, she enjoyed her plants and many animals, but most of all she cherished her family and friends. Her family includes her husband, Ed of Wellman; sisters and their husbands, J. Diane Adam and Loren of Gowie, IA, and J. Donell Doering and David of Mason City, IA; nieces and nephews, Ryan Adam, Kari Adam, Meagan Williams, and Eric Adam, Jen Doering, and Chris Doering; special family friend, Don Wilson of Hardy, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents. Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service of Iowa City is caring for Dawns family and her services.
