Obituary of Wayne A. Hull
Wayne Allen Hull, 50, lifelong resident of the Iowa City area died unexpectedly Friday, January 9, 2015, at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 6pm Monday, January 12, 2015, at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City. There will be a time of visitation beginning at 3pm Monday until the services. Following the service family and friends are gathering at the Coralville American Legion to share and support all who loved Wayne!
Wayne was born September 11, 1964, in Iowa City the son of Clarence and Hazel (Wheeler) Hull. He has always lived and worked in this area. For over 10 years he worked for Hawkeye Foods and for the past 13 years he was employed for the City of Coralville. Wayne also worked part-time for Gilcrest Lumber in Coralville. Not only did he appreciate his part-time work, but he enjoyed the friends and autumn softball league that Gilcrest sponsored as a team.
To say Wayne enjoyed life to the fullest, would still not tell the story, but he would be the first to want you to know a bit about him. He loved his family and friends, if you were a friend, it was for life, and if you weren't, you soon became one. He enjoyed his motorcycle with all the poker runs, his "bags" games (bean bag toss), barbeque, good beer (Coors Light), chocolate, jokes (ask about the turtle), stories to tell, and he was not above a little cheating in board games to win! Wayne was not only a large man in stature, but this man has the biggest heart. He would anonymously give money, gift cards, food and other items without anyone ever knowing it was him who did it; just the way he wanted it!
Wayne married a girl he has known most of his life, from his days in junior high he "dated " her, only to know that this would not last, but nearly five years ago, he realized that she was the one. He married Brenda (Roe) on May 21, 2010, the third time around for both, but both agreed that the third time was a charm and so much more!
Wayne's family includes Brenda; his children, Trisha, Sheleigh, Dakota, Tayler, Devon, and Nicole; 7 grandchildren, Dayton, Trinity, Tristen, Elizabeth, Hunter, Kaycen, Tyler and Ian. Wayne's siblings, Jim (Cindy) Hull, Maggie (James) Alcayde, Ron (Valerie) Hull, Kandy (Dean) Drollinger, Don (Deb) Hull, Joe Meier and Annie Hull; step-mother, Vi Hull.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Hazel Hull.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made in Wayne's memory to the Wounded Warriors Project.
