Obituary of Jennie M. Ross

Jennie M. Ross, 85 of 3042 Muscatine Avenue, Iowa City died Friday, March 23, 2007, at the Crestview Nursing and Rehab Center in West Branch, Iowa. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Monday, March 26, 2007, at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City with the Reverend Renee Lunemann officiating. Visitation will be after 11:30 a.m. Monday until services at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Coralville. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in her memory to Crestview Nursing and Rehab Center or to the charity of your choice. Jennie Mae Graham Ross was born July 9, 1921, in LeClaire, Iowa the daughter of Albert and Edna (Clark) Graham. She married Melvin W. Ross on January 15, 1938, in Dubuque. The couple made their home in the Iowa City area. She was a former member of the Eagles Lodge, enjoyed bowling in a number of leagues in the area, and also volunteering at the Veterans Administration Hospital. Her family includes five children, Earl Ross and his wife, Mary of Iowa City, Bill Ross and his wife, Kris of North Liberty, Barbara Butterbaugh of Washington, IA, Marge Glick of Hillsboro, IA, and Julie Briggs and her husband, Gene of Keokuk, IA; 12 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-granddaughter; and 2 step-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a daughter in infancy, 1 grandson, and a brother, Earl Graham.
