Obituary of Marie Grace Geiger

Marie Grace Geiger, 87 formerly of 413 5th. Street, Coralville died Friday, June 1, 2007, at Legacy Gardens in Iowa City. Memorial services will be held at a later date, with burial to take place at Oakland Cemetery in Iowa City. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made in Marie’s memory to Iowa City Hospice @ 1025 Wade Street, Iowa City, Iowa 52240. Online condolences may be sent through the web @ www.gayandciha.com. Marie Grace Miller was born June 28, 1919 in Wellman, Iowa the daughter of Henry J. and Katie Stutzman Miller. She graduated from Wellman High School. On May 19, 1939, she married Waldo F. Geiger in Kahoka, MO. The couple lived in Coralville for many years and here in her home she did upholstery work for many businesses and individuals. She was a member of the Elks Country Club, she enjoyed playing bridge. golfing, and cheering on the Iowa Hawkeye’s and the Chicago Cubs. Her family includes two sons and their wives, Waldo F. “Wally” Geiger Jr. and Diane Q. Geiger of Des Moines; and Tony Geiger and Sherry Geiger of Fullerton, CA; three grandsons, Toby Geiger and his wife, Heather, Anthony Geiger and Kyle Geiger,; two great-grandsons, Will and Zachary Geiger. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, five brothers, Melvin L. Miller, Rollie W. Miller, Raymond R. Miller, Jason J. Miller, and Eldon W. Miller , and two sisters, Cora Raymond and Eliza Brock, Gay and Ciha Funeral & Cremation Service of Iowa City is caring for Marie’s family and her services.
