Obituary of E. Elaine Jennings

E. Elaine Jennings, 90 of Iowa City left this earthly world, Saturday, June 16, 2007. Elaine, the daughter of Frances and John Z. Howard, Cedar County, Iowa was born February 9, 1917. She graduated from Tipton High School in 1932, Junior College in 1934, and received a degree in social work from the University of Iowa in 1936. She married Earl F. Jennings in Iowa City on April 14, 1939. Her family includes five children, Suellen (Frank) Love of Atlanta, GA; Dennis (Pam) Jennings of Riverside, IA; Diane (Richard) Swanson of Marion, IA; Howard Jennings of Moscow, ID; and Jaycee (Margie) Chung of Rockwall, TX. Ten grandchildren, and fifteen great-grandchildren; and her sister, Rachel Howard Billings of Redding, CA also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Earl; granddaughter, Amy Jennings; and six siblings. Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service of Iowa City provided cremation services, with private family services to be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to the Amy Jennings Memorial Fund c/o Systems Unlimited of Iowa City.
