Obituary of Marcia Marie Reeve

Marcia M. Reeve, 56 of 4081 2nd. Street N.E., Coralville, died Friday, June 22, 2007, at her home surrounded by her family following a courageous battle with cancer. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 26, 2007, at the Grace United Methodist Church in Tiffin with the Reverend Beverly Marshall-Goodell officiating. Burial will be at the Oxford Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8pm Monday at the Church. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in her memory. Online condolences may be sent for her family through the web @www.gayandciha.com. Marcia Marie Reeve was born November 26, 1950, in Iowa City the daughter of George R. and Hazel (Immel) Reeve. Following graduation from Clear Creek High School in 1969, she attended Iowa State University for a number of years. During this time she worked part-time at the Donutland in Coralville. After school she became employed with the University of Iowa in the Microbiology Department. She has worked in this department for the past 34 years, up until she was unable because of her health. Growing up on the farm and loving it, she was involved in 4-H, showing cattle and projects on both the local and state levels, she was a member of Jenny Wrens and Victory 4-H Clubs, a member of the Johnson County Cattlewomen’s & Cattleman’s Association. She has always been an active member of Grace United Methodist Church, in her youth she use to play the piano for Sunday School. Marcia loved when the Iowa Hawkeye’s and Iowa State Cyclones battled it out in the sports world. She enjoyed antique shopping with family and friends. But there was nothing more important in Marcia’s life than her family, she especially loved supporting all of her nieces and nephews in their many activities, they will miss their Aunt Marcia! Her family includes her mother, Hazel of Coralville; brother, Melvin Reeve of Iowa City; sisters, Faye Tucker and her husband, Greg of West Branch, and Kay McGuire and her husband, Doug of Wayland, Iowa; nieces and nephews, Matthew McGuire and Monte McGuire both of Wayland, and Michael Tucker, Monica Tucker, Elizabeth Tucker, and Jamie Tucker all of West Branch; and Marcia’s “Adorable Cat”, Morris. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, father George, and a niece, Nicole Tucker. Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service is caring for Marcia’s family and her services.
