In 1965 he formed Selzer Construction Company Inc. which he ran until his retirement in 1988 when he sold the company; now bearing the name of Selzer Werderitsch Associates. Max enjoyed life to its fullest, from supporting the Iowa Hawkeye Athletics’ tailgating from his motor home with family and friends, camping and boating the summers away at the “res”, following the St. Louis Cardinals, to his love of fishing, golfing, and hunting with his dogs Misty, Dawn and Chevis. You couldn’t keep a good man down; his last major projects included a new lake home in Minnesota and the Guard House for the Alamo Country Club.
