Obituary of Todd Andrew Peterson
Todd A. Peterson 42, of Iowa City died Saturday, November 15, 2008 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. A gathering for family and friends to remember Todds life will be held from 5 to 7pm Tuesday, November 18, 2008, at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City. Memorial and burial services will be held in the Spring of 2009 in Battle Creek, Michigan. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in his memory to Iowa City Hospice @ 1025 Wade Street, Iowa City or Melanoma Research Foundation @ 24 Old Georgetown Road, Princeton, NJ 08540. Todd Andrew Peterson was born July 21, 1966, in Battle Creek, Michigan the son of Jerry P. and Patricia E. (Macey) Peterson. He graduated from Lakeview High School in Battle Creek in 1985, and received his Associates Degree from Kalamazoo Valley Community College, Kalamazoo, MI. Todd had many gifts, his passion for music and art took him to places all over the country. He has played drums for a number of bands throughout his career, including most recently, Skin Kandy here in Iowa City, also the Drum and Fife Band in this area and in Kalamazoo. His other passion in life was art. Many in this area will know him from his business at Coral Ridge Mall; Iowa Air-Brush. He worked his talent through airbrush art, since 2003 until June of this year at the mall when his declining health forced him to stop. Whether it was his music, or his air-brush art, he made many friends from all over the country who would say, they had an extremely gifted friend in Todd! His family includes his parents, Jerry and Pat Peterson of both Lady Lake, Fl and Battle Creek, MI; brothers, Matt Peterson and his wife, Melody of Lake Forest, IL; and twin brother, Troy Peterson of Lakeland, FL; nieces, Alyssa Peterson of Battle Creek, MI; Kelsey and Corrine Peterson of Lake Forest, IL; special aunt, Nancy Maxson of Grosse Pointe Woods, MI; many good friends across this great country, including two special ones in Iowa City, Gina Null and Deb Floyd.
