Obituary of Lloyd Williams

Lloyd Robert Williams, 88, formerly of rural Conroy, died Wednesday, November 19, 2008 at his daughters home in Greenfield, Indiana. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 22, 2008, at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City. Burial will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Iowa City. Visitation will be from 12 noon Saturday, until services at the funeral home. Memorial donations can be made in Lloyd’s memory to Hancock Regional Hospice in Greenfield, IN. Online condolences may be sent for his family through the web @ www.gayandciha.com. Lloyd was born May 2, 1920, in Missouri, the son of Captain and Ida Williams. He married Beulah H. Hays December 24, 1955. He retired from Amana Refrigeration with over 30 years of service. Prior to declining health, his home was rural Conroy, Iowa where he has lived since 1938. He has enjoyed his Christian faith and fellowship. His family includes his Daughter, Nancy (Greg) Landuyt of Greenfield, IN and their family,Granddaughter, Jessica (Rob) Carlson (great-grandchildren Natalie and Jack); Grandson, Jared (Melissa Wheatcraft) Landuyt (great-grandchild Teresa Wheatcraft); Granddaughter, Jacqueline Landuyt; Lloyd’s son, Daniel (Diane) Williams of Marengo; and their family, Grandson, Shawn Williams (great-grandchild Kaiden Sears); and Granddaughter, Shelby Williams. He was preceded in death by wife, Beulah and son, Delbert. Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service of Iowa City is caring for Lloyd’s family and his services.
