Judy, Jennifer and Sparky,
Judy, Jennifer and Jeffry we were stunned to come home from vacation saturday evening and to hear of Al's passing away. I had just seen him a couple of weeks ago at the Fareway and we had our usual chat. We remember all of the great times at Plamor and all of the tailgators at the Iowa games. He was truley a great fun loving guy and will be surely missed. We wish you our most sincere condolences in these very hard times.
To Charlotte, Tom and all the family we would like to express our condolences for your loss. Growing up, I remember Allyn (Tubby) as a good big brother to Tom. I know he will be missed, but may you keep his memory alive with stories and remembering how he affected your life. We will pray for you all and will make a contribution to the Va in his memory. May God bless all of you.
Judy......thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. My heart goes out to you!!
I am so sorry to hear about Al. My husband, Lew and I remember bowling with him at Play-Mor Lanes. I remember his son Jeff was always working the desk area and I can still see him running down the lanes to get those pins out of the pockets. I enjoyed working at Iowa State Bank with Cathe and remember the good times we had at the Keokuk branch. Al was one of my favorite customers at the bank. Please accept our condolences Judy, to you and your family. Kathy and Lew Vyrostek
Al will be missed, he had that smile that would make everything better. Growing up, you knew when Jennifer and Jeff had to get home, his voice carried over the intire block. He would come up to me at HY-VEE and scared the day lights out of me. laugh oh he would laugh when I would scream because he scared me. Al was a great guy and he will be missed around Iowa City. Watch out Heaven you have another good one!!
We were very sorry and shocked to read of Allyn's death. We only recently got to know him through the youth bowling league at Colonial Lanes on Saturdays where our children bowl with his grandchildren, Nile and Andrew. Allyn was such a proud supporter of his grandchildren and their bowling and he was alway cheering them on. He was a very nice man to visit with too. Even though we only knew him briefly, we can see just how lucky his family was to have had him for a son, brother, husband, father, grand-father and great-grandfather.
Judy and family: So sorry for your loss. We will all remember Al with a smile. Take care of each other and gather strength through your memories.
Our thoughts are with you all, Al was one of a kind. The Cardinals Packers and Hawks lost a loyal one, but god got a great one. The Terrell family.
Don't know really what to say. Al was a wonderful camping father and always fun to be around. The memories from the camp ground and the bowling alley will forever be engraved in my memories, along with the him holding Ashlie the day she was baptized and he became her godfather. Gonna miss him dearly. If you guys need anything please don't hesitate to call me or send me an email. Love you all and may god be with you through this time.
Judy and family,
We were sorry to learn of Allyn's death. You have our sincere condolences.
You are in our thoughts and prayers.

So sad to lose Al as part of our family. He loved people and especially his family. I have wonderful memories of Kaye, Richard, Bryan, and I spending summer vacation time with Judy & Al in Iowa while we were growing up. We'd take the train down from Fargo and looked forward to Al taking us to the drive-in for burgers & fries. He was so welcoming, had a great laugh, and always up for a good party with family & friends. Judy, Jenn, Jeff, and family...we love you!
I'm not sure where to begin. I was shocked to learn of Al's passing. It broke my heart to think of the pain and saddness you have to endure and all the people who will never have the opportunity to meet one of the most wonderful men in Iowa City. My thoughts, prayers and condolences to all of you. A wonderful dad, husband and grandpa was lost, but the memories he made are enough to make anyone smile.
Judy, Jen, Jeff and family, I was so sad to hear the news this week about Als passing. Some of the best memories I have are all the years spent camping at the lake with all of you. It was such an amazing way to grow up spending the summers out there. Those are times that will never be forgotten. My heart and prayers are with you all.
Judy - so sorry to hear about Al. Prayers and thoughts are with you during this time.
Dear Judy and Family,
Words cannot express our sorry we are for the loss of our long-time friend. Most of our memories of our years in Iowa City include you, Al and the kids... Plamor Lanes, camping (Al's infamous hatchet), birthdays, anniversaries, holidays, even our dogs. We will all remember Al's great love of music and dancing, how much he loved sports (especially the Hawkeyes) and his love of people.
He will be missed by so many whose lives he touched. I'll bet he's already searched out Ginger Rogers for a spin around heaven's dance floor.
Love to you all,
Co and Bill

We too were shocked to learn of this. The world will be a much sadder place with the passing of Al. Not only was he a parent of one of my oldest friends he and his wife were responsible for my wife and I meeting over twenty years ago. I am so pleased to have been able to know Al and am deeply saddened by this loss. Judy, Jen and family you are in our prayers.
