You have been a safe harbor for your friends and family through sunny days and stormy seas. No parent could have asked for a better or more conscientious son. I know that Carl and Sheila could not have been more proud of you. And while times change and life goes on, you will remain a constant presence for your friends. With the passing of your mother, it is your friends turn to be that presence for you to lean on. Your sadness will pass with time, and both your mom and dad will always be with you. We live on, and we remember those things which are important to us. And you are important to your friends.
Rejoice in the wonderful memories that your mom and dad provided for you, for they will continue to watch over you.
Bob, I wish I could be there for you at the service, but I know you understand that not all of your friends who are standing by your side can be there in person.
