It has been a privilege to know Ferne.

My condolences to her family.

I just got word of Ferne's death. My goodness, there is a lot of card playing in heaven these days! Ferne was such a good friend to Max & Dorothy through the years . . . .they communicated 'til Mom died. She was a delightful lady . . .and I can hear her laugh right now! I was a delegate to Iowa UMC Annual Conference this past week-end, and I'm familiar w/Barry Tritle . . . . .I'm thinking it was a nice funeral service. WE are in the process of moving to Urbandle to be closer to our daughter and son-in-law and our very new (May 19) grandson.

Ferne was a special lady, so pleasant and uncomplaining as we huffed and puffed together on the exercise equipment at Mercy Hosp. I looked forward to having to go myself, knowing she would probably be there to chat with. Carol Schuldt

I loved hearing Ferne giggle....at pulmonary rehab we do lots of silly things and she delighted in our "goofieness". In the friendship part of our lives we had long talks...visits at Melrose and at Mercy. I will miss Ferne...my condolences to her family and loved ones.

To Ferne's Family-

My deepest sympathy for the passing of your loved one. I had the opportunity to become acquainted with Ferne over the past couple years as we helped her move and get settled in her new home. She was a fine lady. I am sure she will be missed.

You are in my thoughts & prayers in the passing of Ferne! What a wonderful lady, friend and "sister" in our Chapter KP! I will never forget her warm smile and friendship we had!

Dear Family of Ferne, I knew Ferne from her volunteer work at Mercy. She was a real people person. She was always helpful and had a caring way about her. I know that she was very dedicated to her family and friends. My condolences at this time of sadness. Mary McCarthy, RN

A bunch of the old softball gang was here last night when I read Lynns email about your mom. They wanted me to let you know they are thinking of you and your family. Take care!

I will always remember her smiling face. Going over to the house and having drinks in screen porch. Also, when she would come for Bridge club.

Kate and I visited Ferne this spring and we sat there and remembered all the old times and what was uptown when she lived here and how much it has changed.
