Obituary of Tonnie R. Latham

Tonnie R. Latham, 46, of Moscow, Iowa passed from this earth, Tuesday, June 21, 2011 following a short illness with cancer. A celebration of life gathering will be held Sunday, July 10, 2011 from 1-3 p.m. at West Liberty Community Center (corner of North Calhoun Street and Highway 6), West Liberty, Iowa. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mercy Hospital Hospice or Chickadee and Corndog Check Off. Tonnie's family included her husband, Ronald Latham of Moscow, Iowa; mother, Sharon Pedersen of Des Moines, Iowa; father, Virgil Pollard of West Liberty, Iowa; brother, Monte (Hye Cong) Pollard of Jacksonville, North carolina; niece, Maegan Pollard and nephew, Morgan Pollard, both of Jacksonville, North Carolina; as well as many aunts and uncles. Tonnie was born July 19, 1964 in Moberly, Missouri, the daughter of Virgil and Sharon (Gooch) Pollard. She attended grade school in Salisbury, Missouri and graduated from Lincoln High School in Des Moines in 1982. She attended the University of Iowa. She married the love of her life, Ron Latham on May 24, 1996 in Iowa City. She was employed for 20 years at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City. In her spare time, Tonnie enjoyed cooking and sewing. The words of wisdom such as “focus only on what you can change” and her tremendous wit will be missed.
