Obituary of Marguerite L. Lovetinsky

Marguerite L. Lovetinsky, 86, of Iowa City died Tuesday, September 6, 2011, at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, September 10, 2011, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Iowa City, (Sunday parking ordinance will be in effect for the streets near the church). Burial will take place at St. Joseph's Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m., Friday at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City. Marguerite Lula Lewis was born January 26, 1925, in rural Johnson County, IA the daughter of Malcolm and Adelaide (Thomas) Lewis. She was united in marriage to Raymond H. Lovetinsky on March 21, 1942, in Kahoka, MO. The couple farmed for many years in this area while raising their family. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Women of the Moose. Her family includes her children, Patty Dreckman of Van Buren, AR; Barbara Speicher of Iowa City; Stephen (Sharon) Lovetinsky of Iowa City; Marlene Clowers of Iowa City; and Raymond Lovetinsky Jr. of Iowa City; 14 grandchildren, 29 great- grandchildren and 20 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 brothers, 6 sisters, 3 infants in infancy, grandson, Lincoln Dreckman; great-grandson, Shawn Jordan; and son-in-law, Larry Dreckman.
