Margaret Ellen McDonald

Condolences
To the McDonald family - my deepest sympathy and prayers at this difficult time. It was an honor having been able to know her through our piano lessons with Mrs. Johns (Bruce), and through CCT (Molly and Amy). I always was awed by her graciousness and hospitality. She will be greatly missed. May God's love surround all of you at this time.
I am very sorry to hear that such a terrific lady has left us. Mrs. McDonald was such a great supporter of youth and the arts in Cherokee when I was growing up. I was honored to have known her. I extend my sincere sympathy to the McDonald family.

Jim & Family:
Molly,Amy and families, We are sorry for the loss of your mother. You are in our thoughts and prayers.
Margaret will be remembered for the talent and enthusiasm that she gave to everything she set out to do. We share your sense of loss. She will be missed.
Bruce and family,
I wanted you to know that I'm thinking about you as you grieve the death of your mom. My mom died last April and I still find myself wanting to tell her something everyday. I have many fond memories of your family through church, school, and friendship. One of my favorites is of everyone singing around the piano at your house with Jim on the piano and your mom leading us in song. We had a lot of fun growing up in Cherokee and I know you have many fabulous memories that will sustain you. Please accept a hug and many warm thoughts from me. How lucky we were to have such great moms!
Joani

She appreciated good music and had many friends in Music Study Club.
I send my sympathy to her husband and family.
Amy and family, I was so sorry to hear about the loss of your mother. She was always so much fun to talk to and always had a smile on her face and laughter in her voice. May God bless you at this time and please know you will be in my prayers. Denise Perry

Margaret was an iconic figure in my childhood, warm and friendly and supportive of young people through our church and community theater/arts activities. Her contributions were many and I remember her fondly. My sympathies to JIm. Bruce, Molly, Amy and families.

My parents always spoke so highly of both of your parents. My parents were Wayne and Helen Brooker.
Jim, as you know we were so fond of Margaret and enjoyed those dinners at the club. Margaret was such a kind person and so giving of her time to the Republican party. Wayne and I had intended to attend her services, but unexpectedly this afternoon my cousin from Tennessee, and her husband, arrived and will be here overnight and part of tomorrow. I have not seen her for over 15 years, so don't think we will be able to attend. Wayne will call you again later for breakfast. Nora Lee Balmer
To Margaret's family,
I was sad to read of your mother's passing; she lived with such vigor and compassion and added much to our community. Our families shared many experiences revolving around church and bridge club and babysitting---so many good memories. You can take solace in knowing that hers was, indeed, a life well-lived.
To the McDonald Family -
Though we never met her, we feel Margaret's passing through our friendship with her daughters Amy and Molly and her grandson Matthew. All our thoughts and love go to those who loved and knew her best in this difficult time.
Jim, Bruce, Molly, Amy and Family,
I send my condolences and deepest sympathies to you at Margaret's death. Saying "goodbye" to a spouse and mother is always difficult, no matter what the circumstances. Although no words can really help to ease the loss you bear, just know that ou are very close in every thought and prayer
Margaret and I worked on so many political projects and she was one amazing phone machine! She was so committed and a joy to work with. We were close companions in our endeavors. I've missed the old Margaret for the past few years and know that with the inevitability of Alzheimer's, it was a blessing that she didn't have to live in this condition any longer than she did. My condolences to you, Jim, and your entire family.
Dear Uncle Jim and all the Iowa McDonalds,

Amy and all the family, so sorry for your loss. You mother was a wonderfully pleasant person and always had a nice smile and greeting for me when I worked at Fareway in high school. Our mom and dad also appreciated her friendship in Cherokee over the years.
To The McDonald Family,
So sorry to hear of Margaret's passing. I am proud to say she was a family friend and respected by all. Our deepest sympathies from the Fishman family.

I first met Margaret when she and John came to pick me up for Charles' funeral. She had a warm smile which helped ease the pain. Margaret and her sisters, Marilyn & Jan, possess that trademark Hungate (this spelling is for you MA) smile. Life truly is about lifting up someone else's life of which the Hungate sisters are the masters. Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal. Please know we are thinking of you, Jim, Bruce, Molly, Amy & families across the miles and send our love & condolences. Marilyn, John, Tori, Jack & Alex Aulabaugh
To the McDonald Family,

You have my deepest sympathy Jim, and Family. I know you from being true customers in our store, that I always took time to visit with...........especially Maragaret, and teased you, Jim if you came without her......I wondered where your better half was! I think you enjoyed this, and she certainly enjoyed me telling her, this is what I would say to you!
I will miss her friendly smile, and always so tender, kind spirit.
I will always have good memories of you two, in the store together.
I am sorry for your loss, but find comfort, in that she now is at Peace.
