Obituary of Henry Swailes

Henry H. Swailes 75, of Columbus Junction, died Sunday, December 4, 2011, from injuries received in a one car accident. Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, December 9, 2011, at the Grace United Church of Christ in Conesville, with burial at the Conesville Cemetery. He married Shayla Wheeler on October 12, 2003, in Columbus Junction. For many years Henry worked for Plank Implement of Columbus Junction, and as a farm hand for Moe and Sam Smith. His family includes his wife, Shayla; 3 daughters, Kim Schierkolk (Duane) of Shenandoah, IA; Cindy McKinney (Tim) of Letts, IA; and Carrie Rowe (Tony) of Virginia Beach, VA; step-son, Andrew Wheeler (Jessica) of Dayton, OH; 3 grandchildren, Caleb and Ciara Schierkolk and Conner McKinney; 2 step-grandchildren, Allison and Danielle Wheeler; 3 sisters, Pauline Gingerich of Keota; Evelyn Gingerich of Columbus Junction, and Ruth Lukins (Dick) of Columbus Junction; brother, Raymond Swailes (Phyllis) of Conesville. Henry was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Wyat. Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service is caring for Henry's family and his arrangements.
