Obituary of Grace N. Cooper
Grace Bradley Cooper, longtime resident of Iowa City, Iowa, passed away Tuesday morning March 17, 2015 after a long illness. She was preceded in death by her husband of 74 years, Kenneth "Pete" Cooper and her son, Frederick L. Cooper. She was 99 years and would have made 100 in September.
A funeral service will be held 2 p.m., Sunday, March 22nd at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church in Iowa City. Following the service there will be a time of fellowship and refreshments in the fellowship hall.
Grace, fondly known as "grandma," worked for more than 20 year in the experimental cardiology lab at the University of Iowa and was a founding member of St Andrews Presbyterian Church. She was involved with volunteer work in the Iowa City area from the 1960's thru the turn of the century.
She is survived by two sons; Kenneth R. Cooper Jr. and Michael Bradley Cooper; adoptive son, R.S. Harvey; grandchildren, Kendolyn Cooper Pope, Camille Michelle Cooper, Joseph Richmond Cooper and Michael Bradley Cooper II and great-grandchildren Carter Bradley Cooper and Carys Quinn Pope.
Grace will always be remembered for her generosity- there was always room for one more at Graces' table-and she never turned anyone away.
