Hello Debbie, Rod, Mark, Gary & Lori,
I am so very sorry for the loss of your wonderful and beautiful mother. It has probably been 3 years since I last saw Elaine. I was visiting family in Iowa and I drove mom out to visit her one day. I have known Elaine since I was a kid of about 13, so for around 48 years. I would get to talk with her on the phone when mom made her yearly visits to AZ for the last few years, and we always exchanged Christmas cards. I babysat with you kids when you were little tots. I remember coming to your mobile home when Butch & Elaine had it parked behind Grandma Sedlacek's home. When Grandma passed away then Dorothy & Orlo moved into Grandma's place and your family moved into Dorothy & Orlo's home. (I think I have that right). You kids were all so dang cute...Debbie would say "I not do dat Rod do dat." Rod would say "I not do dat Mark do dat" and on and on. I was also good friends with Sandy when we were in high school. We used to "run around" together. Sandy and I used to wear our sweatshirts inside out and thought we were totally cool. I was also Mike's buddy through high school. We used to "ride around" in his car. One night he took me for a ride in Iowa City on that street with the hills (now has stop signs) and we would fly up in the air. We ended up hitting a tree but didn't get hurt fortunately. I remember when Butch worked for dad and your whole family would come over for a visit some evenings. Mom would always serve "pop" and you kids would always spill either orange, grape, or strawberry soda. I don't know why she didn't just serve 7-Up! Our family always loved your family. Your parents were both so wonderful and kind. Mom has always thought the world of Elaine. She enjoyed the time she spent with Elaine over so many years. Elaine was so good to mom. I know mom cherished their deep friendship. Elaine is now at peace in the arms of our Lord. She and Butch are finally together again. Maybe she's even playing the accordion for him. God bless your whole family. With love, Jackie
