Obituary of Theodis Howard

Theodis Howard, 42, of Iowa City, died on Thursday, February 16, 2012. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, February 25, 2012, at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City, with visitation starting one hour prior to the funeral service. Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service is caring for Theodis' family and his services. Theodis Howard was born August 27, 1969 to Shirley Jean Howard. The second child of three, his siblings are: Vendella deMoors of Atlanta, Georgia and Billy Howard of Huntsville, Alabama. He accepted Christ Jesus at an early age and was a member of the 46th Street Baptist Church in Birmingham, Alabama. Theodis received his degree in Cement Masonry in December 1990 from Great Onyx Job Corps Center in Mammoth Cave, Kentucky. Theodis moved to Iowa City, Iowa in 1994 where he worked at Millard Packing Company and met his love, Edweana Franklin. To this union two children were born: Dominique Angelique and Malika LaShae. Theodis and Edweana were later married October 8, 2002. Theodis, affectionately called "Theo" had a HUGE heart and was willing to help ALL he came in contact with. He was a devoted father, husband, brother, uncle and friend.
