Obituary of Mary Ann Miller

Mary Ann Miller, 89, lifetime resident of Iowa City, died Monday, March 5, 2012, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, March 8, 2012, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Iowa City, with burial to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to St. Patrick's Catholic Church or Iowa City Hospice. Online condolences may be sent for her family through the web @ www.gayandciha.com. Mary Ann Gosenberg was born August 20, 1922, in Iowa City the daughter of Amil and Nora Mae (Miller) Gosenberg. She attended schools in Iowa City and was united in marriage to Leopold S. "Leo" Miller on December 29, 1951, in Iowa City. For over 25 years she was employed by Northwestern Bell here in Iowa City. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church for over 50 years. Her family includes her sister, Joan Kay (Gosenberg) Flagg and husband, John T. Flagg of Spencerport, NY; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Leo on June 14, 1992; and her brother, Kenneth "Skip" Gosenberg.
