Condolences
I came to know Debbie through my work at a dental office. Over the past five years we became friends, and I always looked forward to seeing her. She was genuinely a warm and kind person, and I so admired the courage which she faced her battle with cancer. After receiving my family's Christmas card where I detailed our evacuation from our home during the recent Austin wildfires, I received a lovely letter from Debbie. Even as she was becoming more ill, the purpose of her letter was to invite my family to come and stay with her any time we were in need. I was so touched by her kindness and generousity. I was blessed to know her and call her a friend. May God Bless her and all her loved ones.
warmest hugs are sent to you at this time.

Lived down the street from Debbie for 17+ years. Loved our chances to visit on her way to the mailboxes. She was always upbeat, even after she knew she was sick; we joked about her beautiful curly hair that replaced her "first" hair and laughed about silly things going on with our wonderful street full of neighbors. She will be missed so much and tears have been shed for her passing.
We are so sorry for your loss. She will be sorely missed.
May everyone feel comfort in their memories of Debbie's life.

Debbie was a very strong person. I will always remember sneaking into her room when I was small just to admire her art. I will always remember a painting of three owls she did. It was so neat how she textured the paint to lift the owls from the canvass. Debbie's room was an adventure to me. When we were both caring for our terminally ill Mom we would joke about growing old together. We would laugh about chasing each other in wheel chairs and driving everyone around us crazy. I always had the security of knowing she was always there for me no matter what we had gone through together. It is so hard to believe she is gone.
I am sadened by Debbie's passing. I was so hopeful that she would win her battle with cancer just like she had overcome so many other life obstacles. I have lost a good friend and the engineering profession has lost one of its most conscientious practioners. My thoughts and prayers are with her family. May she find the peace she has earned and so richly deserves
My sincere condolences to all who loved her. I know she will be greatly missed.
Deb and I shared many walks to get our mail and long discussions about all aspects of life.
I am so sorry for your loss.
We are so very sorry about Deborah's passing. The Lance family is in our thoughts and prayers.
Deb was - without question - the most conscientious and brightest residential structural engineer in Austin. She was chosen for the MOST difficult and high profile projects here.
But, she was also one of the kindest, most hard working, decent people you will ever meet. She was, as her obituary says, one of the first women in her field. The indefatigable, dauntless Deb will be missed more than she would have ever expected.
Deb and I started out as neighbors in about 1995, and then became friends. We both loved the Round Top (Warrenton) Antique Fair and the Austin Book and Paper shows, so we tried to catch them every year. She always searched for the little tin boxes, Zane Grey books for her Dad, and silver pieces for her Mom. Deb was so much fun and we chattered non-stop whenever we got together. I will miss her very much.
I came to know Debbie when starting a pet sitting service. She allowed me to care for Flash. In turn she became our pet sitter when we travelled. From there a fine friendship grew and when she was diagnosed, it was understood that I would be there for her, going out for lunches & drives whenever she felt like it.
I have lost a wonderful friend and confidente as well as a terrific pet sitter. John and I will miss Debbie very much indeed.
Thoughts and prayers are with Deborah's family at this time. Please know that I am thinking of you at this difficult time.
I'm truly saddened to hear of your loss and it is a loss to us all. I got to know Debbie while working together on the design and construction of a residence in Austin, Texas. It was during this time that my wife became ill. After my wife passed away, Debbie and I had several long conversations during which she was always generous with her time, willing to listen, and to share words of compassion and wisdom. I truly valued Debbie's Structural Engineering expertise-I knew we were in good hands with her on the team. I believe she was one of the finest, most competent Engineers I will ever know. I will always remember Debbie as a thoughtful and caring person of the very finest character. I will miss you Debbie. My thoughts and prayers are with you - her family and friends.
