We loved your mom for her kindness, intelligence, wit and friendship which we enjoyed when we lived in Iowa City and later. I know you were a loving daughter and she always spoke lovingly of you. We were so sorry to hear of

Lee's passing. She was a great friend to our family when we lived across the street in the 1970s. Our deepest sympathy.

We were anong themany that Lee taught duplicate bridge in her home. We continued to enoy Lee and Jim in duplicate sessions.

Lee was a very special person, although I only knew her the last few months, I felt a bond that only friends can share. She would always have a story about her Tom cat and birds that would keep me laughing all through the visit with her. My thoughts and prayers are with her family at this time. She was truly a beautiful person and I will miss my visits with her.

We knew Jim and Lee during the 35 years that we lived in Iowa City. Dave and Jim were in the Sociology Department together. Jimmy and our daughter, Elaine, were in school together.

Very recently, on May 14th, we were in Iowa City and visited Lee at Bickford. We could not understand every word, but she was in good spirits and was her usual humourous self. We are so very glad that we made the effort to find Bickford and visit her.

She was a vry good friend and we wil miss her Christmas letters.

I came to Iowa City in 1987 to be married. Because I knew no one, I had to go to the duplicate club to play bridge. I was a total beginner, and Lee was tremendously helpful and kind to me. Kindness is very important, and somewhat rare, in the duplicate bridge world! I have always remembered that she taught me and only wish I could remember WHAT she taught me! I wish she were still around.
