Condolences
Hi, to Fran’s family. I know it’s been 12 plus years since she passed. I wanted to let you know that I worked at the Children’s Hospital School in IC, when I was a student from 1980-84. I thought she was tough on me at the time, but came to realize she was like a mother figure to my 20 ish yr old. I needed that, and she was fair and caring. We used to talk, about how I could improve and what I was doing very well. In hindsight, she ran a great program with some “particular characters “. Larry the cook, Bruce, Goldie and Marcella, Janice etc. she was really wonderful. Thought you should know. I’m 60 now and never have forgotten her patience and guidance. Our family extends heartfelt condolences. All of us had such respect for Fran and the magnificent job she did as a single working parent. Her strength and dedication to her boys was inspirational. One year, probably 40 years ago, Fran was going to drive the boys all the way to Colorado for vacation. But her first goal was to get to Kearney, Nebraska, find a motel, sprawl on the bed and get a bucket of chicken. We smiled at the thought that a bucket of chicken could be such a reward at the end of a long, long drive. Fran worked hard and achieved the most anyone can hope for: a loving legacy of children and grandchildren. Our hearts are full of happy memories of Fran.
We would like to offer our condolences on the loss of Ron's mother. Our prayers are with you in your time of sorrow. May Frances rest in peace.
My mother and father were friends with Frances in Coralville in the 1950s, and had fond memories of the fun they had together. My thoughts are with Ron , Dave and the rest of the family.
Bev and family,
I am so sorry for your loss. My prayers are with you all.
My family lives in the home in Coralville where Fran raised her children. I did not have the opportunity to meet Fran in person but I am reminded of her memory as I raise my family there as well. I have come to know Fran through the memories of her friends and neighbors. From our family to yours, we are sorry for your loss.
I worked for Fran at the Carousel Restaurant in Coralville, where the China Buffet is now. I went to school with Dave. Fran was a tough cookie but a great boss. I don't think i was the most mature or responsible of workers at such a young age, but she was always so pleasant and shared her smile easily. I have great memories of her and the business she built. RIP Fran
My thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends. May you find comfort in the happy memories. Frances shared her beautiful smile with so many people, she touched many hearts, she will be remembered as a kind and loving woman.
Ron and Bev and family, Dave and Julie and family I am sorry for the loss of your mother. She will always be remembered with her beautiful smile. Keep the good memories that you shared with her. God Bless You All.
Dave, Julie, Chris, Tracy, Ron, Bev and family,
I like to believe that when we lose someone close to us they still live through us and give us strength. The time we have spent with those we've lost makes them part of us. I always enjoyed and connected with Fran's love of animals. I will never forget visiting her and being entertained by her birds, fish, and dogs and all the tricks she had taught them. She was a loving and caring person in my life and her memory will live on with me forever. My thoughts and prayers are with her entire family.
