Condolences
The Staff and Board of Directors of the Johnson County Heritage Trust are truly sorry for your loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with your entire family during this horribly difficult time. May you find strength in knowing that Walker is in a better place and in those who are left behind.
I cannot put to words how important Walker was to us at the Oxford Fire Department. I loved Walker like a little brother and admired him for his drive and willingness to learn. We all enjoyed Walker and Kendra very much and will miss his contagious smile and laugh. Please know that our doors are always open to your family and Kendra, and please call on us if you ever need anything now or in the future. He will always have a place of honor in our fire house and in our hearts.
Clint and Lisa,
The members of the Jefferson-Monroe Fire Department, Inc (Swisher) extend our sympathies to the family of Walker Olson. Firefighting is a brotherhood and losing someone so young and dedicated to service to our communities affects us all.
Such an amazing young man and he was so mature beyond his years. Always with that big grin and a heart was so big I don't know how it fit in his body. He always seemed to be on the move going so many directions. He touched so many lives in such a short time and my heart aches for your family's loss.
Dear Family,
Our condolences go out to you in this tough time. I am a friend and coworker of Todd at the CRFD. My son also knew Walker through Clear Creek Amana and living in the community. Walker was just at our house recently. Walker sounded like a great young man with awesome work ethic and goals that he was accomplishing at a young age. I am sure he would have been a successful and great Firefighter. I do not know why the good ones are taken from us at such a young age. Our daughter Heather also died and was buried at age 18. Please know our hearts are heavy as we are thinking about you and your family.
Clint and Lisa,

Dear Lisa and family,
I am so sorry for your loss. I lost my first born son when he was only 2 days old. He would be almost 12 years old now and I still grieve. I cannot begin to imagine how it must feel to lose your son after watching him grow up into such a handsome and wonderful young man.
I will be flying to Iowa this week because my 13 year old step-son, Gregory, is spending the summer with my Dad in Atalissa. He had an accident on a moped today and fractured his skull bone under his eye and will need surgery. So I need to fly to Iowa in order to escort him home to Seattle.
Hopefully, I'll be able to see you on another visit to Iowa when we are both under less stress so we can catch up on old times. And I hope to meet Tyler and introduce you to Gregory and my 5-year old daughter, Aisha.
Love,
Karla
I met Walker thru Kendra. He was a wonderful young man. I enjoyed hearing from Kendra what they did to enjoy life. He was not only really nice but kind and considerate. His young life being so short has made me realize life is such a fine line, and that we all need to make every day count with our loved ones. Walker made an impression in this world and he will never be forgotten. My heart goes out to Kendra for her loss of her best friend and to his Mother, Father and brother, and the rest of the family. I am praying for all of you to have some comfort and peace.
Walker always made me laugh. I will never forget his smile. He was a good young man and will be deeply missed. My heart and prayers go out to the Olson family and friends.

Walker, I have so many great memories with you, there's no way I can write them all on here. But one that I remember is when it was really icey out. I kept telling you, "Slow down, the roads are icey!" And you of course kept messing with me. As we pulled into the parking lot you headed back to where all the other boys parked their trucks. But, you were going to fast and we nearly slammed into the football fence! You laughed and laughed and I just sat there ready to pee me pants. Boy, did you tease me about that!
It's going to be so weird at Christmas and Thanksgiving without you. We can't tease you about being a pig, no more stealing your hat or getting on your nerves. No more rides in your pick up, no more seeing you ride your mower through town, no more seeing you on your motorcycle, no more seeing your truck parked up at the fire station. I remember on the fourth you were teaching Kendra to ride your motorcycle. There couldn't be a better guy out there than you.
You will truly be missed Walker, the whole family is having a hard time with this. It's hard to see everyone crying. We are all asking "Why?" You're to young to die. I can't even process the thought you're really gone right now. I know it's true I just can't believe it. I can't process the fact I'll won't see you again for years. I just don't understand why.
I love you Walker, we all love you. We hope you've got a new mudding spot, new hunting spot, and you're wearing your hat up there watching over us.<3>
I am truly sorry for your loss
We are deeply saddened for your loss. Walker was a great young man! He seemed to always have a good attitude and treated everyone well. You will be in our thoughts and prayers.
To the Olson family - my son Robert was a friend of Walker's - also taking the Fire Science program through Kirkwood. Robert told me Walker just spent the day on Sunday hanging with the guys at Coralville, and they were also fishing buddies. Knowing our sons were so close in age, had the same drive and passion, and were friends, you have my heartfelt sympathies and prayers - I cannot imagine your pain and loss. I hope you can find some comfort in the amazing things Walker did and the influence he had on others in his short 19 years. Being the parent of a Firefighter is an honor, which you have richly earned. Our family's thoughts and prayers are with you.
My dear Lisa and family,
I have no words that will ease your sorrow. Know that I am thinking of you and praying for your family in the days to come. Hugs!
To Clint and family. I am so sorry for the loss of your son, he seemed to be a remarkable person whom I'm sure will be greatly missed.
Olson Family, my thoughts and prayers are with you today and everyday. I knew Walker from Thiesen's and he was such a pleasure to know and work with. Walker will be missed by so many people! Please know you that you have wonderful memories that you can have forever....and remember you have love and support from many many people!
Clint, Lisa , Tyler and families,
We are so sorry to hear about Walker. By reading it sounds of it he was an amazing young man. There are no words to say to ease your pain but we will pray that God gives you all the strength you need.
I happened to notice your loss while seeking information regarding a friend. I couldn't help but stop and pray for you all as you suffer this great loss. Just asking for the peace that surpasses all understanding be with you all at this time. I don't know you and I didn't know Walker, but his picture shows his greatness. Praying for you and trusting he is in a perfect place now. God's love.
Tyler and family: I was so sorry to hear about Walker's passing. You are very much in my thoughts and prayers at this difficult time.
Lisa, Clint and Tyler,
My thoughts and prayers to all of you. Walker was a great young man and had many things to do yet in his life, and was well on his way to reaching some of his goals. Walker was taken way too soon but left behind some great memories, hold them close and reach out to them often it will help.
To Walker's family and friends: Words cannot express how grieved I was to hear of Walker's passing. I was always happy and delighted to see Walker come into my office; he was one of those young people who gave me great hope for the future. I didn't know him well, but will sincerely miss him. I hope that wonderful memories of him will bring you some comfort in coming years.
Clint, Lisa and family,
We are so saddened to hear of Walker's passing! Our sons Josh and Tyler were on the trap shooting team and Josh and Walker have been good friends. Walker recently came to our home for Josh's graduatin party. Josh was planning a bon fire and Walker walked through the area with him to make sure everything was okay! Amazing, quiet, and considerate young man I can only imagine how proud you are of him. Our prayers are with you and your family, with Walker's family and friends, and with the Lord, asking him to gently hold your son in his loving arms.
Clint-I cried for you when I heard the news. We talked about our kids so many times... and I know words can't help... so just know I am thinking of you and your family.-Krista
I am deeply saddened by the sudden death of Walker. I'm proud to have taught such a kind, warm, and hard working kid. My prayers and thoughts are with him and with those he left behind.
Joe and I were always happy to see Walker in our doorway. He was quiet but unfailingly polite with us and always willing to help with whatever was broken around the house and shop. He brought his welding tools one day and fixed an oversized garden trellis for me, working hard to get it just right. Harris and Walker's other friends are devastated at losing him. We are too. Our hearts go out to his family.
My son was a friend of Walker's, he was also taking the fire science program through kirkwood. Your loss has broke my heart and you have my deepest sympathies. Walker and Jordon are alike in many ways, Jord has also grown up at the fire station, it is his passion and life. He also works at a feed mill and is hard working. Some years ago we lost our other son, no one knows the feeling it is to lose a child until it happens to you. My heart goes out to your family.
You all have my deepest sympathies. I have know you all for years and what a wonderful family you have. I only knew Walker very briefly but what an amazing young man you have raised. I feel blessed just to have known him. Please call on us for whatever, truly.
I'm so sorry, Lisa and family. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
Lisa and family-
I am so sorry for your loss. Walker was a wonderful person and I feel privileged to have had him as a student. I will always remember his gentle personality and shy smile. He touched my life in a positive way and I know that he had the same impact on many others. You're in my thoughts and prayers-
Walker was such a nice kid, and was very fun to teach. He was always happy and someone who didn't have an enemy in the world. I am truly glad I had the chance to get to know him. Our thoughts and prayers go out to your family in this difficult time. He will be greatly missed.
We are very sorry for your loss. Walker took care of our lawn for three years but he did so much more; Walker touched our lives and made them better. Rick looked forward to their long talks about fishing, turkey and deer hunting. How kind of Walker to take the time.
Walker was so young and yet he had the maturity and wisdom of an old soul. Our hearts go out to his family, we all are poorer for the loss of this wonderful young man.

Words cannot describe how sorry I am for you loss. I only met Walker a couple of times. He was a close friend of my 2 sons on the NL department - they went to Kirkwood and Firefighter I together. My sons certainly feel his loss. I can understand how very proud of him you are and am hopeful that you can find some degree of comfort in knowing that he has touched a lot of lives and managed to make a difference in the short time he was here. He will not be forgotten by those he called his friends,
Walker I'm gonna miss seeing you on your random excursions to Theisen's. It was great working with you and I can't believe of all people you were the one this happened too. Thanks for the memories and random Rodney Carrington jokesat work you randomly saying "he don't work here no more!" will always be one of the first things i remember about you. I won't ever be able to watch him the same way again. save a spot at heaven's gun club for me and floyd, we have another round of trap to shoot. RIP buddy
Eric: So sorry to hear about the passing of your nephew. He was so passionate about flying and was so excited when he won the Greencastle AeroClub flight lessons scholarship. He was a good man with solid virtues. May fond memories of him bring you and all of his family comfort, now and forever.
CLINT, LISA, TYLER, REID, MARLENE AND GIRLS, I AM SO SORRY TO HEAR ABOUT WALKER. WHERE DO I START? HE WAS AN AMAZING YOUNG MAN. I OFTEN TOLD LISA ON THE PHONE HOW IMPRESSED I WAS WITH WALKER'S (AND TYLER'S) WORK ETHICS, HONESTY, AND RESPECT. WALKER ALWAYS SEEMED TO ME THAT HE COULD HAVE WALKED RIGHT OFF THE STREETS OF MAYBERRY WITH HIS "OLD FASHIONED" VALUES AND FRIENDLINESS. I SAW HIM WALKING TO CHURCH ON EASTER SUNDAY AND THOUGHT TO MYSELF THAT HE TURNED OUT TO BE SUCH A HANDSOME YOUNG MAN. HE SEEMED TO BE AN OLD SOUL, WISE BEYOND HIS YEARS.. I WILL MISS HIS SHY SMILE, BUT HE WILL BE IN MY HEART ALWAYS. MY HEART GOES OUT TO YOU ALL AND YOU WILL BE IN MY PRAYERS. THERESE SCHEBLER
Walker was by far the sweetest boy around. He was always there when someone needed a hand, always quick to give a wave and a smile. He will never be forgotten. The good ones, ones like Walker, stay in our hearts forever. This loss has deeply affected me, along with many others. I'm so sorry to his family. Keeping you all in my heart..
We love Walker and are so sad for your loss. Your road ahead is long, but your family is right here with you always. Please don't hesitate when you need something or someone to lean on. There are so many memories of Walker to share. His pond will always bear his name, and Oxford will not be the same without him riding by on his mower. We love you very much.
Lisa and Family
Words cannot express how sorry we are for your loss. Our thoughts & prayers are with your family. Walker was such a nice young man. Memories of the boys helping doggy sit for us & riding their mowers around Oxford come to mind. Please know that we are thinking of you during this difficult time.
Lisa and Family,
I am so sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you all during this most difficult time. It is never easy to lose a loved one. May you find comfort.
The entire Coralville Fire Department family is deeply saddened by the loss of Walker. Walker will truly be missed by the department it's members and myself. He was a pleasure to work with and be around. He was always smiling and it was evident that he loved being a firefighter. You are in our thoughts and prayers.
Word can not express how sorry I'm for your lose. Please let us know if you need anything.
