I knew Aileen from living across the hall from her on Wayne Ave. She was always so nice and friendly which you don't always find living in an apartment building. We had a nice group of people there at the time who looked out for each other. While living there I realized that she was an aunt to an old neighborhood friend of mine Keri Barber. I spent many summer days and nights at the Barber household and probably met Aileen when I was a little girl and didn't even know it. To Lois and your family my thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

Aileen always stopped to talk when we met on the street downtown,which was fairly often. We talked of old times as well as my asking about her brother.I loved to talk to both Aileen and Rollie.I worked with him at the Post Office and after seeing the pictures in he obit, I find that Mr. Rourke was also a friend.I will miss Aileen so much.
Aileen and her family lived within 2 blocks of us as we all grew up in "Goosetown". Her sister Lois and I were in the same class at Regina and my sister Janet was 2 grades ahead of Aileen at City. I can remember many happy times visiting the Rourke's home. Their front porch was the place to be back then. Many happy memories include Horace Mann school, Brown Street playground, John's Grocery and many games of jacks, marbles and softball. May you rest in peace Aileen and may your family take comfort in knowing you had many friends.
Back in the mid 90s, I lived at the same apartment complex as Aileen. I very much enjoyed chatting with her quite often. After I moved to a home and had children, Aileen would make sure every year that Santa Claus would send a letter to each of my kids. They absolutely loved getting these letters and she was very kind to remember them. We had kept in touch thru letters. She was a wonderful woman. Thoughts and Prayers go out to her family.
