Marion was my first teacher at Mt. Vernon # 8 School. As I remember she shared an inspiration of the importance of securing an education.
After army service I completed my college education at ISTC, where I met my wife to be. Ann taught for one year and became a mother for our four children. Two farm - Craig (Waterloo) & Tim (Van Horne), Amy is a Director of Early Childhood Education in the Kansas City area and Patrick and his wife are a Small Animal Veterinarians near Chicago.
Education became my challenge on the Waterloo Community School Board. As President I felt that we could develop an Integration Program rather than have state & federal dictates placed upon us. The majority of the Board approved.
