Joann Louise Peterschmidt was born October 12, 1930, in Ft. Madison, IA one of six children born to Joseph and Dorothy (Stolwyk) Peterschmidt. She was raised in Ft. Madison graduating from Central Catholic High School. She was united in marriage to Paul Edwin Wolfe Jr. on November 4, 1950, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ft. Madison. In 1958, she and Paul relocated to Hills to build a home and raise their family. She worked a number of years at the Hills Elementary Schoolas an assistant librarian. She loved to read to the children and put her artistic talents to work creating different bulletin boards monthly.
She was an active member of St. Joseph's Parish and the Altar and Rosary Society. Joann loved to help decorate both her home and the church for Christmas. In retirement her love of arts, crafts and decorating evolved into "Wood'nStuff", a small hobby craft business that she and Paul built that displayed their creativity at the local craft shows for several years. She loved to paint and personalize the many items they created. Yard work was not work, but a passion. She loved her flower gardens and watching the birds build their nests in the spring. Weekly Bingo was a chance to get together with her friends and share her thoughts. Most of all she was a dedicated wife and mother who always placed her family first. She will be greatly missed.
